Yeah, "Saying it how you see it" isn't really a positive trait if the way you see it is from the viewpoint of a bigoted *******.

Definitely not a positive trait, but at least it's an honest one.
I know that certain lines have to be drawn in places like this, but in general, i'd feel like if someone's opinion was suppressed based on whether it was an unpopular perspective, we might as well be an opinion manufacturing factory.

I value variety of perspective over everyone high-fiving each other because they all agree every day of the week.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Though of course in this particular instance we're talking about someone who has made it pretty clear he isn't so much expressing honest opinions as he is just saying things that he knows will irritate people because he likes the attention.

To be honest, I personally and honestly can't say whether I believe that or not, no matter how much I may like it to be so. We really have no evidence that he's simply trying to piss everyone off, versus simply stating his opinions.

We're left with just making judgments about whether he's using opinion simply to piss people off... and it's pretty hard to go ahead and dictate something like that simply because we see it that way. I mean, we CAN... but is it right?

Not to get to far off topic here but I happen to do that a lot with people. I catch a lot of shyte for it but I just dont see the point in catering my thoughts for the benefit of someones feelings. I dont always like what people have to say to me but if its the truth I respect them more in the long run. Initially it may seem harsh but I always end up appreciating the fact that they said what they thought. No matter the topic because thats how I am myself. Of course you cant expect everyone to adopt this way of thinking cause everyones different. Of course through the years it has earned me plenty of names. @.zz hole being the most popular. Especially in relationships with the opposite sex. I'm ok with that because by popular opinion its the truth. Is it wrong is it right...I dont know but its how I'm wired. I'm under the impression that once your an adult the truth should not be hard to handle if it is in fact the way you truly feel. In most instances though its not the case because people for the most part dont like to hear the truth. But thats just my opinion.

Oh, I agree it isn't right to dictate opinions, like I said before. Just "spilling my guts" here, don't mind me.

Just to clarify I am in no way saying that I agree with anything hhbh says but do respect the fact he seems to be genuinely honest with his opinions.

Whoop-di-do, he's honest. Doesn't mean he's a nice person.

No one's above hate/dislike, one way or another, so I have a hard time getting cut up by bigotry or even hateful speech.

I also appreciate honesty, but I'm not entirely sure hhbh isn't just out for ****s and gigs. Either way, I enjoy his posts sometimes, sometimes he's just a dumb ass, and that's okay with me.

Is there some unspoken rule that says we are obligated as human beings to be a nice person? To me analyzing what I say for fear of disagreement or any other reason is pretentious no? Because its not how you truly feel and its just to pacify the other person.
