But most don't have that much to say about music except what they are fanboys of, as if all people are here to do is give or take recommendations. A mini review apparently is just giving something a score out of 10, as if writing 2 sentences is too difficult. I'm not here to suck up to people or to establish myself as the knowledge on a particular area.

What would you say you would most like to see in a music discussion board?

Well then, I appreciate your consistent posting in my blog. Means more to me now. Thanks for being here, by the way.

I think you have to be actively trying to separate yourself from the community to feel anything but "at home" here.

Its the old saying you get what you give. I prefer being in the shadows, but overall its a very decent site with very informative people.

Do you mean as far as interaction with other MB members or how much different material is presented on MB (other than what you already know)? What do you feel you're getting little of - friendship or music?

If you get little out of it it is because your not looking hard enough. Between all the music threads, mumu, journals, turntable, competitions their is so much you can do.

Ribbons: I've seen her around a bit over the years but she doesn't post much so it hasn't been until recently that I started crossing paths with her more and now I feel like I've been missing out all this time. What a wonderful, warm, knowledgeable, interesting, thoughtful person! I really wish she'd post more because whenever she does she really adds a lot to the conversation. :)

Thank you so much, Janszoon. When I read your kind words today, I just froze in my tracks. I wondered how I could express my appreciation to you, without sounding like some Hallmark greeting card (which is how I often come off ). All I can say is that, coming from you, a person I regard as such an intelligent and endlessly entertaining contributor to these forums, your message was beyond generous and kind. Thanks again, Janszoon. I could make a lot of excuses as to why my posts here are so scant, but the real reason is that I can’t compete with posters like you.

I was lucky enough to meet Liz aka ribbons soon after she joined MB, and you are exactly right about her, Janszoon: she *is* a wonderful, warm, knowledgeable, interesting and thoughtful person. I've never before met someone online who reminds me so much of myself! :p:

When I interact with Liz, I get a sense of the beautiful person she is. She adds sparkle and a feeling of comfort and kindness to my day, and I hope she gains that from MB, too. Not only is she loving, considerate, out-going, charming, funny, and honest, but also she is full of music knowledge, which is much greater than mine. I love her sense of humor, too, and her equanimity: I've never seen her have a bad MB day or a grumpy mood like I sometimes have here! (It's okay if you do, though, Liz. ;)) I feel completely safe with her and I love that she is someone who values meaningful conversations and connection like I do.

If I could ever choose a real-life sister, I would choose Liz...and I really mean that.

Heh. I truly doubt that. You kick ass, it's time to face facts. :)
