I love the Division Bell, my favorite.

When I was about four my sister used to let me watch The Wall with her in her room whenever things were getting too chaotic in the house. I've always loved that album and held it above every other album I have ever had or heard, at least until the past few months. Now I look at it completely differently and will one day plow through the Pink Floyd discography on my computer. When that days comes, I'll come back. Thanks in advance for all of the useful effort.

I love Piper at the Gates of Dawn -- but also love the lesser appreciated Meddle. Great Stuff.

My favorite is Piper at the Gates of Dawn! I really love the Barrett influenced sound, just before he was completely burnt out. The album is in a whole different vein than the rest of their discography. I really enjoy the fractured, broken, upbeat but yet strangely bizarre sound of the album, and the times when they include strange random noises to the point that it is almost a scary album. Really enjoyed reading this thread! Great reviews jackhammer

I'm a huge fan of this album.. And I definitely feel as though it is one of their darkest ever, if not the darkest, due to Syd's increasing separation and alienation. You can definitely hear it.
I wouldn't necessarily refer to "Corporal Clegg" as filler. True, its not one of their best tunes, but I think that the tone itself, with the strange disjointed musicality and ethereal backing vocals, along with an almost "proto-Punk" theme to the lyrics. Not to mention the quite insane use of sounds throughout.
Nice review, either way.

I totally agree with you there. The Wall has some nice points but it's easily the worst of their albums that I have heard. My favorite is Animals.

I agree on almost everything you said in those reviews.

but i do feel that DSOTM is a great Pink Floyd masterpiece, but it would've been better without this extremely exaggerated commercial success. It kinda brought it down a bit; when you are part of the huge mainstream, something feels wrong.

I did like some tracks in the post-Waters albums, but I felt that the Pink Floyd dark atmosphere has vanished with Roger Waters leaving the band. The good tracks, seemed only aesthetically good, and nothing deeper.

Read this thread makes me want to check Pink Floyd at a more in-depth level. For some reason, I have a lot more Beatles songs than Pink Floyd...
