I feel like you have to ignore the protest aspect to arrive at that stance. It's organized as such as a critique of the first amendment protections that religions use to avoid accountability for corruption.

The last time atheists tried to start an online community most of them ended up becoming reactionaries if not outright Neo-Nazis so I think it's fair to say it was a very bad idea in hindsight.

Samuel Alito's Mom's Satanic Abortion Clinic is an online clinic that provides religious medication abortion care. The clinic provides abortion medication via mail to those in New Mexico who wish to perform The Satanic Temple's Religious Abortion Ritual.

I only subscribe to the church of Bob but if I didn’t have that spiritual community I’d probably dabble in CoS.

I dont know much about religion cause I close my ears and eyes any time it comes up as a subject. It started happening after my best friend in school told me that it was too bad I was kind and all cause I’d most definitely burn in hell seeing I didnt believe in God. Have barely heard of TST before. The seven tenets seem surprisingly reasonable. I agree with SGR. Not only do humans need to organize and belong, but they also need find an answer to the question «why do I excist». I’ve heard of so many people who has been suicidal or addicted go some kind of drug, but then they magically got better when they became a Christian. They dont get that it’s not God making them better, it’s because they get an overwhelming and heartwarming feeling of being loved like they’ve never been loved before, by the religious community and by the imaginary «father». I’d be overly excited as well if I suddenly felt so loved, but I prefer real love from actual people. I know Santa cant actually love me. Neither can God. That said, if other people want to believe in the fairytales of religion, then of course go head and believe. I dont care as long as I dont have to listen to any of the crap they tend to throw in my face, trying to make me into a believer.

It would seem you are missing the entire point, and most likely don't actually know what atheism is.

The organization(s) are often goofy because its poking fun at how absolutely absurd and ridiculous region as a whole is. Billions of people believing many different stories and in many different gods based off of zero evidence any of it is real. Its also nice to make jokes and be humorous with atheist organizations in contrast to all the damage to society and the individuals religion has done and continues to do.

And trading a group think for another? What are you even talking about, have you ever stopped and thought about at what comes out of your mouth lol? Atheism is one simple thing...lack of a belief in a god...that's it. Surprised to see such ignorant folk on this forum.

Nothing positive that religion does couldn't be done without it.

My culture is pretty much old school pagan, we have our harvest festivals, village festivals, forest festivals and lake festivals; dancing around the fire, lighting torches on the mountains, yknow the usual stuff.

I'm most definitely Pagan myself. Why should I worship a God, when I can worship the sun and the earth, that grant me life?

Do you think about your lack of religion at all when you see religiously-influenced policy or government action like overturning Roe v Wade? That's more what tst is about beyond the cringey metalheads.

Gotchya my bad, I misunderstood. Regarding your second statement however its a bit of a false equivalence. Someone believing in ghosts most likely isnt going to effect how they treat other human beings, or vote, or their fundamental understanding of the world around them. Religion however strongly effects all of those things. It is responsible for massive amounts of policies/laws/rules/opinions/etc that HUGELY effect peoples lives. Just look to the news today with talk about the trans community or recent abortion rulings...Nearly all because of religion. I would argue being indifferent as an atheist, while not a bad thing is certain not something to be proud of.

You hit the nail on the head. The constant argument told to atheists of "well why cant you just let people believe what they want it doesnt effect you" is morally abhorrent. How does a book or teachings that preach bigotry, anti science/health, and racism not effect everyone? Many religious people and atheists like seem to give religion a pass simply because it is so widespread.

At the end of the day its a belief that has no evidence of being true and that is never a good thing to hold.

The american right wing is deeply rooted in protestant ideology despite recent downplaying of that aspect to appeal to islamaphobes/"new atheists" of the Sam Harris vein, don't kid yourself.
