The Chess World Set on Fire with a Cheating Scandal

The Chess World is rocked with a cheating Scandal. Magnus quited after a game with Hans Niemann. Even Elon Musk speculated it could be done with anal beads.Wgat are you thoughts?

Plankton 09-29-2022 01:47 PM

I just wanna know how someone can cheat using anal beads. Did he use some that are shaped like chess pieces and he slipped one out and onto the board while no one was looking?

I haven't read too much into the story, but I've yet to read just how one cheats at chess with vibrating anal beads. I mean, I don't doubt that you can...I just don't know the details of how.

Plankton 09-29-2022 02:36 PM

Well yeah sure, I guess. I like my theory better, although they both stink.

The chess matches and board state are broadcast live, so a team could watch the board, feed it into an AI chess player, and communicate the AI’s moves back to Niemann. In the anal bead theory, Niemann’s team would vibrate the anal beads in a certain way that would tell the 31-year-old player how to move.

Well, if Elon Musk said it, it must be true :D

Well, it wouldn't be the first time Chess players are accused of cheating in perplexing ways

Did the beads transmit moves using Morse code?

The Batlord 09-29-2022 09:37 PM

At least you know where to hide them.

So the top two options are either he never cheats over the board or he always cheats. So sometimes cheats is not an option.

Clearly you're not a grandmaster at creating polls.

This thread is a load of ass, only for those who are really anal about chess. You can stick it where the sun don't shine. :)

You have quite a vivid imagination. I would think that Magnus Carlsen would smell something rotten in Denmark if Hans Moke Niemann did that. So I do think that's what went down.

Yes reference.

It would be a device that would receive a transmission and then using Arduino/Raspberry Pi or something electronic like that stuff covert the signal into a vibration. It could be Morse code, or something simple as a few buzzes. Like two buzzes at the right time that would signal to use a piece like the knight and that would all he need to know - being Grand Master and all. That's what I've heard on YouTube.

The options are just a small sample of all the possible variations. I would have used "sometimes cheats" if I used "he cheats on every single game" as an option, but I didn't.

The one option comes from the horse's mouth himself. Hans Moke Niemann admitted to cheating in the past on games he played online, but doesn't over the board. "Always cheats" would probably be better written out as "he always been known to cheat, not only online but also over the board." IDK, not enough time and space to write all that out.

This is a good example of "The Trollheart Gambit," where he goes full throttle like Evil Knievel telling a joke hoping not to crash & burn just for a few lulz.

The title of this thread makes me laugh every time I see it - and this story has an element of the experience only being as good as you make it.

Just when you think the smoke has cleared. OK to back track a minute. Hans Moke Niemann was accused of cheating. Elon Musk alluded to electronic communication via anal beads. Hans Niemann said OK he would play naked. After that naked chess match didn't come to fruition he vowed to sue the pants off of Magnus Carlsen.
