but that's the point. you need to learn how to manage it, and sometimes it's better to learn that in time through advice than the hard way through life

Not exclusively, when your pedagogical portfolio is centered on Foucault, you get all sorts, from literature to to sociology to geography.

I know that some of the better students who chronically only do things at the last moment and turn in sloppy papers have to live in the knowledge that they're not realizing their full potential and not reaping the full benefits of being university students. And it's easy to slide from this to not submitting any work at all, because with time things get more complex and pulling an all-nighter before the due date doesn't always suffice as it does in intro courses.


In general, I agree with Marie, I believe that efforts should be made to offer very young people more meaningful guidance at a challenging time in their lives.
