China seems to be, for now, staying out of it, kind of neutral, but doesn't look to be supporting Russia:
China The world's second-biggest economy, which shares a long border with Russia, said it was monitoring the crisis and urged restraint. "China is closely watching the latest situation, and we call on all parties to maintain restraint and prevent the situation from getting out of control," foreign ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said at a regular press briefing.

China has a lot to lose economically if it seems they're siding with Putin. They need western money to keep their economy going smoothly.
This is a hypothetical and happens awfully fast, but this something that just might be possible now. From 2018 so the leaders have been changed a bit They're not letting it upload so the link is here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWqWAi_H_9o |

I'm not too optimistic that Ukraine will be able to hold out, maybe a few months if that. Major military targets across the country have already been destroyed, radar stations, airports, ect. If the Ukrainian forces aren't crippled yet, they soon will be. I'm pretty damn concerned for any country that isn't Belarus or China bordering Russia now. I'm really hoping this won't get any worse.
As an American, my government has ****ed **** up in different parts of the world, and I've grown to distrust it. I even severely doubted warnings that Russia would invade because of the "intelligence" our government was said to possess (Iraq anyone?). So, in a way, I blame the past actions of our government for basically gaslighting the whole ****ing world for years. |
