Thanks to a tik tok comment I found a pro Russia state media website: https://tass.com/
They call the war in Ukraine as a special operation. I can't decide whether to laugh at the stupid articles or cry. Maybe both. A Russian tik tok user is giving updates about the affects on her country and the malls have all closed shops and it turns out top news outlets are allowing Russians to access their subscriptions for free as the state news is the only thing they can watch on TV these days. Another concern for me is IELTS is no longer accepting Russian admissions to do their exams. This means young Russians who have finish university cannot leave Russia to most counties without evidence their English is up to par. These are the people that want to escape this dictatorship.

Listening to Russian Music in Putin's Shadow
A much needed piece by the brilliant Alex Ross addressing some of the confused nationalistic claims made in the aftermath of the invasion (the one I've seen in the wild is that Prokofiev was a Ukrainian composer) |
