I read about that somewhere else this morning. He proudly admitted it in court too.

Why is it surprising?

1. The Russian military, as far as I'm aware, aren't career soldiers for the most part. I'm told it's largely short-contract conscriptions.

2. It's the Russian military but it's against the Ukrainian people. Russia might have a bigger army, but you're up against the Ukrainian population, with a leader they're behind, and with whom the West has rallied.

3. Putin way miscalculated. He's getting bad info it seems like and he's surrounded by Yes-Men. The Russians have already failed to take Two cities so far. Putin managed to get the Swiss to come out against him.

People were worried that China was taking notes for Taiwan. I think China should be worried Taiwan is taking notes from Ukraine. I assume they're pissed because Putin ****ed this up so badly he managed to bring NATO back from the grave.

Ukraine's UN Ambassador Bluntly Tells Putin To 'Kill Himself' Like Hitler

Quote:
“If [Putin] wants to kill himself, he doesn’t need to use nuclear arsenal. He has to do what the guy in Berlin did in a bunker in May 1945.”

— Sergiy Kyslytsya, Ukrainian Ambassador to the United Nations

The bit that seems clear is already in the past (the fact that the invasion was decided long ago, discussed with "allies" or whatever it is that China is to Russia), but I don't think it necessarily means that Putin will act with any semblance of "strategic thinking" in the future. We're in uncharted territory already and if he has his back against the wall, who knows.

like i said i really dont trust any news outlet in the west of course there gonna say good positive things ..not like there going to say "ukraine is going to fall in like 16 days"

They covered the fall of Afghanistan pretty strightforward, no?

Ukraine doesn't need a counter attack. The invasion is going to sap Russians finances. The longer they hold out, the more money Russia is going to have to dump in. And since the EU, Japan, and god knows who else won't bank with them, they're going to have a hard time paying for things.
