Except the police didn't handle it, did they? Many of them seemed to be in on it, or at best turning a blind eye (selfies with rioters? Come on) so I don't see how you could make that point to be honest. Anyway, the police as a force never "handle" these things - they arrest and send forward for prosecution. It's the courts who handle it, a task on which they are currently dropping the ball.

I'm suggesting, as I've pointed out more than once and I guess you're either just ignoring it or trying to wind me up, that they hand out proper sentences. People get years and years for robbery, assault, embezzlement, being black in a public area without a licence, but perpetuate an act of violence against the state and you get a few weeks/months?

That's the last time I'm saying it. I've made my position clear. If you don't get it by now you're either being deliberately obtuse or you are just thick. or both.

If it's leftist yahoos with no coherent planning then I will doff my cap to their idiotic self-sacrifice and mourn the wasted opportunity. If we've got a real working class movement with real coordination then it wouldn't be Jan 6 and we'd have something to talk about.

right it is hard to imagine it being any thing other than the kind of failed circus we saw this time around but let's assume for the sake of argument they had real potential to pull off a coup... You would be on board?

What would be this real potential for a coup? Killing a bunch of congressmen and installing... Who? Who would be the the person or people installed? Who would guarantee their installment? The military? Cause without a working class movement I don't know who would back this. Are you just asking if I would back the socialist version of pointless nonsense?
