The Divided States of America - where now?

The really scary thing is that it seems to have been just one of a planned spate of them across different states (all Democrat-controlled of course). The idea of heavily-armed militias rolling into your town and setting up a basic junta with quasi-military trials and hangings just gives me the chills. Imagine if Trump had actually won this time? They'd probably get not only a presidential pardon but a medal too.

It's hard to say what would have happened if he won. Either way, it's fair to say that many are fed up with a lot of things down there.

It's really not that hard.

He would have dissected Obamacare

He would have supported, either tacitly or openly, Russia's invasion of Ukraine

He would have ensured nobody stood trial for Jan 6 and would have freed any in prison.

He would have continued, and expanded his grifts.

He's a very predictable man.

Actually, had Trump been (legitimately) re-elected, there wouldn't have been a January 6 insurrection to begin with. What would be the reason?

But everything else, yeah, pretty much, plus more people would have died from covid as well.

My predictions would be that division would continue in a big way, much like it is here. It wouldn't have surprised me if he had reneged again on NAFTA, or whatever stupid acronym is used now.

What I really don't get is how so many people buy into DeSantis' fascist crap. Do they realize they would be affected by it too? DeSantis is really the Huey Long of the Republican party these days, doing anything he can to get elected, even if it means being a dictator.
