Omg no I don't think there's no risk, I just think it's not something to be scared about. Just like I don't go around being scared of getting into a traffic accident, or whatever risk is comparable.

So you think it's a minimal risk for you to catch Covid symptoms? 90% of the people I know who caught covid had some kind of symptom which I would consider undesirable enough to be concerned about, either pain all over your body, temperature and general fatigue or worst, breathing problems.

Or you're not concerned about the usual Covid symptoms? *unsure*

I think a lot of people here are missing the basic point, which is that you could have it, right now, or later, and if you don't take the vaccine anyone you pass who hasn't got it yet is at risk. Are you really that selfish as to allow other people to pay the price for your disinterest? Stuns me, it really does.

Like I just said, I don't think the risk*severity factor is something for me to be scared of. Which doesn't mean I'm disinterested or not careful.

Actually it does, as I said. Just because you can't get sick from it doesn't mean you can't pass it on to others, and you don't seem to care about that (if I've read you wrong on that I apologise, but you appear to be on the "I'm all right Jack" side of the debate) so you know, should the cap be measured correctly to the cranium it should be sported thereon.

You don't need fear to be cautious.

Ok so basically you think that even if you get Covid chances are it will be like a mild flu. Got it. Cool. Understand.

This is not how I feel at all, which is why I'm concerned, for myself, for my family and loved ones, for everyone. I think that if you catch Covid, there are high chances you will develop nasty symptoms and A risk, very uncomfortable to live with, that it might develop into something even more serious, potentially fatal.

All of which I consider more likely than dying in a car crash I guess, hence the concern.

Not saying your attitude is wrong, especially since you are considerate enough to think of others.

I do care about passing it on. But adi asked about motivations to get vaccinated, and my personal, emotional (I guess you can call it primal) motivation is getting my life back. That doesn't mean I'm careless and not following the rules, or that I think my social life is more important

Yeah I get that. I've been an essential worker who no government cared about this entire ****ing time and have been a sacrificial lamb for capitalism for an entire year. Rationality for fear of Covid is something I probably understand far better than you do. It's hard to take things seriously when you specifically aren't affected by it through sheer luck. It starts to feel academic even when friends tell you that they have actually been affected by Covid when you haven't.

But if you're saying "Well I haven't been affected so it's cool if I go to this family gathering cause it just doesn't feel real and I can't take the isolation so I'm just gpnna ignore it to make myself feel better" then that's just privilege. All you're doing is saying that feeling bad not going to Christmas is more important than the chance that your Covid dice might come up wrong. I know jwb isn't capable of realizing that **** cause he's a self absorbed prick but you should be better than that and so should WWWP.
