To be perfectly honest, my primary reason for getting vaccinated is so that I protect myself. Protecting others is an additional bonus.

What I don't understand about people not interested in taking the vaccine is the obvious protection it offers you. Even if it doesn't protect you 100% from getting Covid, it does prevent you from developing serious symptoms. Isn't that enough of a motivator?

I think everyone understands by now that being young and healthy isn't a guarantee that you won't develop serious symptoms which could turn fatal. But even the "normal" symptoms are quite undesirable. My sister had it and went through a terrible time. Why not make sure this will not happen to you?

The fear of potential side effects outweighs the benefits?

The chance for a young person to get dangerously ill from it are so small that then you might as well get paranoid about lots of other things. It just scares people more because it's new and unknown. That being said I don't have any vulnerable loved ones so care for others isn't a motivator for me either. For me it's just that I want to get my old life back.

the main reason im in no rush to get it is quite simple. I dont trust the goverment no telling whats in that cocktail of ****

yall know some of the higher up have a real desire to depopulate the earth and this is a perfect time to set that in motion

so yeah ill wait about 20 years and see what happens

Potential complications even for young people are scary enough. Honestly the way you, jwb, and WWWP have talked about caring more about maintaining social relations rather than taking the virus totally seriously makes it sound like you aren't willing to give up your own comforts for the sake of mass safety.

I do take it seriously in a rational way, I just don't *feel* it. And I don't think as a young healthy person it's rational to be scared of the virus, but that doesn't mean I'm not careful about it. If it's not needed to prevent reckless behaviour fear is useless anyway

I don't get it, you think if you're young and healthy you wont develop serious symptoms? Again, my sister is relatively young and healthy and was struggling to breathe for a week. That's not something you're concerned about? My primary concern isn't so much that I will potentially die from the virus but that will I seriously suffer, the chances of which are not so small...:/
