It's hard not to see a god, if he exists, or the universe, throwing up their hands and going "all right then, if you want to die, be my guest." The trouble is that these idiots will take others with them, AND increase the possibility and strength of future variants, putting us all at risk. There's no other way to see that than pure ignorant stubborn stupidity, also known as Trumpism and Trump-era Republicanism. You think it's a coincidence that by far the largest majority of those dying are unvaccinated, and that the states currently burning with the highest infection rates, while around the world many other countries are bringing their numbers down are red states?

I wondering if I should wait a month to get the booster and see if this Omicron variant f*cks sh*t up a bunch and they have to rework the current vaccine. Thoughts?

The advice will be to get the shot. Even if Omicron evades it, who knows how long it will be before they have one which will work against it, and as RS says, by then there could be another one in the wind. Some protection is better than none, so yeah, I would get it definitely. It's also being said - though nobody knows for sure at the moment obviously - that the Omicron does not seem to be anywhere near as strong and deadly as the Delta; they're calling all cases so far "mild". So it might - might - not be something to worry about. In which case, maybe they might not bother putting another vaccine together. Either way, go with what works is what I say.
