By the way, I'm not really commenting on the whole "probability of death" thing that dumbasses have been using as a go to "gotcha" point since the beginning of the pandemic. Just pointing out the conflicting logic of not wanting a vaccine because of unknown long term health effects but being okay with leaving yourself open to a virus that is slowly beginning to show that it has known long term health effects for people who survive it.

And we've discussed this before, but if everyone thought like you did there wouldn't be mass vaccination. And at the very least, even if it doesn't make a herd immunity difference, if everyone being vaccinated gives governments a clear assurance to lift restrictions that's enough for me (I know it's not as simple as that, but you get what I mean I guess)
I'm not trying to attack you as some evil bastard, I get your point. But I think your judgement is off, and this whole vaccine matter is important

And Ant's take isn't even worth replying to smh
"if everyone thought like you..."

Yes but I don't have any influence over whether they do or not. So that is a moot point.

Before the anti-science trio strawman me again, I already said that I believe the vaccines work. I'm just going to wait longer before I decide which one to take. I'm in that camp of people that's more likely to develop heart inflammation with the Pfizer one, so maybe the next batch of Johnson & Johnson ones will be better.

no it's not, and that's a lazy argument to dodge responsibility. It's not relevant because you can influence it; it's relevant because it's about how individual behaviour translates to collective behaviour. Things outside your circle of influence can still be relevant to your own choices. The reason that you have no influence over others is exactly why your own decision is important, because you can't trust to what everyone else does

and there's the usual routine where you retreat from your initial trollish phrasing. You talk about an anti-science trio, but you use science like a hipster: adopting an edgy, provocatively phrased take in an effort to showcase your idea of scientific but critical, original thinking

Bro if you're this lazy about your own health do you really think you'll be any more proactive about your wealth?

You have zero reading comprehension. Or maybe you just can't follow a conversation. Which is it? I've taken a pretty clear position on this. You don't need to make up a position for me (as you are prone to do).

I thought that bolding the relevant text was an exaggeration on my part but apparently it wasn't even enough. I was well aware that you think the vaccine works. I'm talking about your statements on whether to take it or not, which went from 'I probably would if' to 'I'm just waiting a bit longer'. I also have enough reading comprehension to see that there's no contradiction between the two, just a difference in implication (through phrasing) which I think is intentional, because it's a pattern I've seen before. Which is why I didn't argue about your point in the first place.
