I would've gotten the vaccine a year ago if it was out

Yeah we're all over the pandemic, so get the vaccine. Of course at an individual level it seems pointless, corona is probably not gonna kill you, etc. etc. but you can't apply that individual logic to a global phenomenon. It seems that the way to actually get over covid is to have as many people vaccinated as possible and maybe we're almost there, but you don't know. Adding your own contribution is a small effort that collectively makes a huge difference.

you assume there's a nefarious motivation behind it because you pathologize literally everything with your mini Dr Phil hat but the truth of the matter is it's just actual apathy. The kind of thing you make your brand yet you still here caring about the pandemic in 2021 like Anderson Cooper

it doesn't make a huge difference

Sorry, but it just doesn't. The collective logic doesn't apply. Your decision to get or not get the vaccine has little to no bearing on the general trend of herd immunity through mass vaccination

If no one got the vaccine, COVID would still be rampant. If everyone got the vaccine, COVID would have no host to replicate and would be eradicated. That's my understanding of it, and with that line of thinking it makes it really seem like the people that aren't getting vaccinated are making it very difficult for this to come to fruition. I can also understand the fear of injecting something questionable into ones body, but therein lies the trust. I trusted science and got vaccinated. I also had COVID twice. It was frightening each time followed by frustration and months of recovery, so I'm going to do what ever it takes to not have to go through that again.
