Besides the arm growing out of my back and the new 3rd nut, I'm feeling great after a few weeks of being fully vaxxed.

Linda and I both got both and other than a sore arm (more-so the 2nd shot) we were fine.

Then about 10 days later I got hit with a sudden hot rush and within 10 minutes was gripping the porcelain to keep the world from spinning. In bed two straight days and then it was gone almost as quick as it hit. Kicked the crap out of me though.

Haven't a clue if it had to do with the shot but it sucked.

Funny you say this. I had shingles about a year ago for the first time (FUN!) and read up about them. It's the chicken pox virus that's been sleeping in your body for the 50 or so years since you had the pox as a kid.

It just (only in some people) wakes up all pissed off and decides to go on a bender with your nerve bundles.

This being a novel virus there's no previous history as to what might happen down the road - who knows what's in store 10,20,30 years from now.

Might want to hold off on the 3rd nut jokes for a bit.

Just got the message for my second shot, due on Friday. The weekend may be tough, but I'm hoping it won't be too bad. At least then I'll be done.

Karen's still waiting....

they're not prioritising her? I don't know to what extent her medical issues make her high risk, but it seems to me like she should have been vaccinated much earlier. That sucks

Well my partner just had his second shot (Pfizer) and zero side-effects.

I booked mine in Croatia on the 1st of July and then 3 weeks after. Hopefully Malaysia lets me go and come back.

Yeah it's because she can't get out of the house, and they're just doing it by age in that case. So we have to wait for the age groups above her (she's only 50) to be done before they'll get to her. I agree, it does indeed suck. Still, at least once I'm fully vaccinated it should significantly lower her risk.

They don't prioritise beyond risk/age. So basically you're at risk (check) then what age are you? Therefore, in this rather stupid way of doing things, someone who's say 75 but in relatively good health but for whatever reason can't leave their house or nursing home gets done before her, simply because she's too young. She's being penalised, as it were, for her youth, despite being a very high risk.

Put it this way: when she went into hospital at the height of the pandemic they told me if she contracted Covid while there, they wouldn't be able to put her on a ventilator as her breathing is so weak. Scary stuff.

Wow, even Croatia has a better vaccination rate than Ireland, and we poor. Strange. And obviously disappointing for you. Hopefully they will get to Karen soon.
