absolute ****ing bull****. Bikini Kill didn't have much to do with Sonic Youth anyway; the main riot grrrl band strongly influenced by SY is Sleater-Kinney
The Eagles don’t have much to do with the Beatles.

Exactly!!!

That although Bikini Kill is a great band that’s where they stand in relation to Sonic Youth - both stylistically and in terms of importance.

Not liking the Eagles is about the same as not liking Bikini Kill.

Anyway, punks can kiss my ass: Eagles rule, says the old balding guy from the unfashionable country with the questionable taste in music and giving not one single flying **** who thinks so
As a listener if you like punk but not the Eagles what you really like is the idea of punk and not the idea of the Eagles. The Eagles have great songs. If you can’t see that then you need to take off your blinders.

that's the most short-sighted take on music I've ever seen of you, I'm actually surprised. Bikini Kill changed a whole genre of music in a profound way and helped open it up for many others. They spawned their own important sub genre in punk, which eventually transcended punk thanks to Kathleen Hanna

I’m not ignoring you. I just think you’ve heard the songs. If they don’t resonate with you then fine. They’re in the same family of artists though.

I’m well aware of who they are and what they did. Are you really aware of what the Eagles are and what they did?
