Yeah but last time none voted, so that's a big jump. Plus many - including those who did vote for it - had threats made (apparently) against them and their families, so were scared to even if they wanted to.

This is it exactly. A larger number of them WANTED to vote, but were afraid to. The likes of McConnell, who wants the ****er out and gone, McCarthy, who damned him and then voted no; these people are toeing the party/Trump line because they're afraid to go against the tide of opinion, but as CNN said, if this had been a secret ballot you would most likely have seen a lot more vote yes than did.

yeah but that cuts both ways because they were also scared to vote against him the last time. This time he has little to no power and still they're scared enough to largely stick together so call me crazy but I'm not so sure this is going to mean much in terms of shifting the direction of the Republican party. They can secretly believe whatever they want, if they won't act on it then that's sorta irrelevant to me.

cant trump just make up his own party or run in the independent party

a 3 person race in 2024 but the only thing that would do is take votes away from the republicans

'Kill him with his own gun': Police describe facing the mob at the Capitol https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/14/polit...one/index.html

Quote:
As DC Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone lay on the ground at the US Capitol building, stunned and injured, he knew a group of rioters were stripping him of his gear. They grabbed spare ammunition, ripped the police radio off his chest and even stole his badge.
Now that’s what I call defunding the police.

They're going to. There's a line of indictments that can do nothing while he's president, so after Wednesday...

Hopefully they forensically audit every crevice to find all the ways he personally profited from his decisions in office.
