This is it exactly. A larger number of them WANTED to vote, but were afraid to. The likes of McConnell, who wants the ****er out and gone, McCarthy, who damned him and then voted no; these people are toeing the party/Trump line because they're afraid to go against the tide of opinion, but as CNN said, if this had been a secret ballot you would most likely have seen a lot more vote yes than did.

yeah but that cuts both ways because they were also scared to vote against him the last time. This time he has little to no power and still they're scared enough to largely stick together so call me crazy but I'm not so sure this is going to mean much in terms of shifting the direction of the Republican party. They can secretly believe whatever they want, if they won't act on it then that's sorta irrelevant to me.
