Unless this 'doddering old man' act has all been an elaborate hustle and once he steps on that debate stage with a national spotlight on him, he busts out the old Joe that debated Paul Ryan.

Haven't you seen Trump's slow-moving cognitive train wreck? His RNC speech I thought he took a Benadryl before he got up there. It could go poorly for him.

On a different note, the trending conventional wisdom is that this USSJC opening isn't playing well for the GOP. It's all a bit too naked, hypocritical, and poorly covered up this time, it seems.

Can't we just kill them both and start over? Is that not an option?

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

What makes you think he'd ask them something about chimps or DMT? I'd be more interested in his way of calling out bull**** nicely to someone

I have no doubt he's on drugs. Based on Biden's cognitive fluctuations I wouldn't be surprised if he is too. This is the problem I see though.. Trump's shortcomings have been on full display for 4+ years and his approval rating hardly ever fluctuates. I don't think playing the game of "well Trump too..." is going do much of anything.

I don't rule out the debates could help Biden. I think the strongest thing going for him is everyone's exceedingly low expectations of him. I mean the establishment press was praising him as doing great during the primary debates whenever he simply managed to not make an ass of himself. Whether that will transfer to the general election debates remains to be seen. I'm just not anticipating the debates will make for very thrilling TV barring either some cognitive meltdown or other theatrics mentioned above. Neither Biden nor Trump are very impressive speakers imo.

You mean not good at in it will cost them the election, or prevent them from getting the seat?

Cause judging from Pelosi's response to questions about what they could do to stall it, it seems like the Democrats have absolutely no game plan.

Can they really run another impeachment to stall the next appointee and if so why hasn’t it started yet?

I don't even get what basis there is for suggesting it will cost them the election. Both sides base will be energized by this issue... Seems like a likely toss up to me.

I will be surprised if they don't rush it through before the election.

But keep in mind... Trump can also still win. If that happens you can kiss the courts completely goodbye... They will likely have a 7-2 majority by 2024.

His aggressive appointment of something like 200 federal judges is probably the thing that Republicans like him the most for.. moderates and hardliners alike.

Even Mitt Romney is on board for seating someone before the elections. So I wouldn't underestimate how important this is to them or how it could even be something they literally campaign on.

Also, if the Democrats somehow win the presidency but not the Senate their picks might just end up getting blocked anyway.
