Sorry to ask, jwb, but how many people can be uniquely hated before it stops being unique ?

With 200 million or so adults to choose from Trump and Hillary both close enough to unique
Biden at least has something lovable about him. I hate Trump much more than Hillary for what he’s done but if I could kick one of their tooths down their throat I might go with Hillary. She just incites absolute disgust in me. Still with Trump it’s not personal. With Hillary it’s like she kicked my dog or some ****. I see her face and and I just wish blood was gushing out of it.

It's what makes Biden uniquiely qualified to run against Trump. He's got Favorability numbers that are tough to move. And just as much as no one thinks he's the savior we've been waiting for, so too does no one think he's that bad. He's just kind of there.
And in a Trump world, it's tough to run against. No one thinks Biden is going to nuke the suburbs, they think he's going to eat ice cream and take boring, toothless positions on things.

We’ll see how it pans out. I already threw away my vote by mail thing and I sincerely doubt I’m going covidian just to vote.
Granted I’m a very odd outlier. We will see how many idaf’s don’t vote. Trump’s got that solid 40% then add 6% for electoral college weirdness (the reason for the electoral college was to weed out Trumps btw) 4% no show, Kanye, Green or Libertarian whatever.

Biden's doddering old man persona is a benefit until he makes an ass of himself during the debates. |

Clinton had the debate questions in advance and lost.

I suppose it's natural in a live, televised debate that the audience will be tempted to judge performances the way they might judge a talent-show contest. Who, we might wonder, is better able to complete a coherent sentence without fumbling it? Sadly, that in itself may be a challenge for either speaker.
But unlike a talent show, a pre-election debate isn't just about who sings best on the night in question: it's also about substance, and what may happen to America in the coming 4 years. I think Biden will have a clear advantage here as he generally sticks to facts, science and reality. After 4 years of being fact-checked, a number of people have realised that a high percentage of what comes out of Trump's mouth is unfounded conspiracy, deliberate lying or childish nonsense. In one sense, the candidates won't even be on the same topic: they'll be talking at cross purposes about what is real (Biden) and what is not (Trump). Even if Biden stumbles on Debate Night, I hope that some of the tv audience will suspend judgement until the morning-after fact-checking kicks in; tfw the hot-headed passions of the previous night have abated and in the cold light of dawn you wake up in a stranger's bed and wonder what on earth possessed you ...
