Yes American sanctions play a part in why the economy is stagnant but also the Castro regime has been fairly authoritarian which is one of the most common complaints I heard from Cuban emigres when I was in south Florida.
It's easy for you to say suck it up and blame it on America/capitalism from the comfort of your white home but it's pretty easy to understand why people who flee a nominally communist, authoritarian dictatorship to find a much better life in the states aren't the most sympathetic to the communist cause. They're somewhat ignorant in their assessment yes but aren't we all? |
He was authoritarian against those who insisted on clinging to capitalism
He did kill many but many deserved to die. Then they wouldn’t be voting republican in Florida. |

I'm skeptical cause you say that about every communist dictator... Like I've literally seen you say the same thing about Stalin.
This is what I mean by aren't we all ignorant. You're shaming them for irrationally associating all things bad with communism cause they come from a ****ty yet nominally communist society, yet you do the same thing with America/capitalism. So if you were Cuban chances are you'd be the most rabid anti communist around. |

You also have to compare Cuba to its stolen future

Cuba had a great future but America stole it. |

I'm not even comparing the two I'm just saying it's easy to understand that perspective. |
