It’ll be nice when they decide to stop letting him dictate the narrative.

I know it was real scary when they got invaded though.

They were real scared.

The media will squeeze every last bit of Trump they can manage. Like him or not, Trump draws eyeballs. Biden draws nothing but yawns and indifference.

Obama-era officials return to White House worth millions

Quote:
White House financial disclosures show several officials gained massive wealth.

As several Obama-era officials return to the White House under President Joe Biden, their reunion comes with fuller pockets and deeper ties to corporate interests, new financial disclosure reports show.

wp:2020 United States elections

1. On 20 January 2021, Joe Biden will be sworn in as the 46th president of the US.

2. Arizona, Florida, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin: Biden will win at least 3 of these states.

3. Trump will win Texas. He will get at least 5% more from the total of Texan votes than Biden because, among other things, Texas Republicans will be good at voter suppression.

4. Trump will win 2 or fewer votes at wp: Dixville Notch, New Hampshire.

5. wp:Jo Jorgensen will get at least 3.5 million votes and at least 2.5% of the popular vote.

6. If wp:Amy Barrett is confirmed by 3 November 2020, the GOP will lose its Senate majority.

7. If Barrett is confirmed by 3 November 2020, the combined proportions of the popular votes going to wp:Mitch McConnell, wp:Lindsey Graham, and wp:Susan Collins in their races will be less than 165%.

8. The Democrats will maintain their House majority.

9. By the end of 20 December 2020, of CNN, Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, BBC, Australian BC, and CBC, at least 7 will have declared Biden the winner.

10. The Electoral College will give Biden the majority.

11. At least 5 electors in the Electoral College will vote for neither Biden nor Trump.

12. If there is election or post-election violence between 18 October 2020 and 31 January 2021, far fewer than 1000 Americans and/or those in the US will die of it. (hopefully none)

13. If Trump loses, between 3 November 2020 and 20 January 2021, he will grant clemency (i.e. pardons, commutations, and reprieves) to at least 300 people, and at lest 80% of them will be white males over 50.

14. By 31 January 2021, the wp:FEC will report a +5% plurality of Biden over Trump.

15. By 21 January 2021, Trump will have exited the White House. (Of course he will complain and whine about it.)

16. The Liberals will win a majority in British Columbia, however slight. (wp:2020 British Columbia general election)
(Note: The British Columbia Liberal Party is considered center-right.)

17. The Saskatchewan Party will maintain its majority in Saskatchewan. (wp:2020 Saskatchewan general election)

18. wp:Jacinda Ardern's NZ Labour Party will either win a majority, or need fewer than 5 additional seats from non-Labour to support her to form the government. (such as, but not necessarily, the Green Party)

This looks like it's happening, perhaps happened, already. https://www.electionresults.govt.nz/

19. In the wp:2020 New Zealand cannabis referendum, at least 42.5% will vote Yes.

20. In the wp:2020 New Zealand euthanasia referendum the majority will vote Yes.

21. For 3 November 2020, CNN, world-o-meter and Wikipedia (e.g. wp:COVID-19 pandemic by country and territory) will list fewer than 12 million Americans with covid-19 and fewer than 300 000 dead.

22. Sadly, contrary to Trump's prediction, there will be no vaccine for covid-19 by 3 November 2020 (at least not one that's safe, effective, and affordable for +90% of Americans—say enough for over 400 million people costing less than $50 billion total).

23. By 20 January 2021 fewer than 20 million Americans will have had covid-19, and fewer than 400 000 will have died of it.

24. By 20 January 2021 fewer than 600 000 Canadians will have had covid-19, and fewer than 30 000 will have died of it.
...
looks like I got many of them right, including Biden winning.

Biden vs Trump: live results 2020: (LAST UPDATED FEBRUARY 8 2021) Presidential electoral votes by state:
306
Joe Biden
DEMOCRAT

232
Donald Trump
REPUBLICAN
Under normal circumstances, this thread could've been closed once these results were in, but unfortunately, thanks to Trump's GOP, the 2020 election is being dragged out, from Jan 6 rioting to bogus re-auditing of votes in Arizona, to a recent CNN poll showing that 53% of Republicans consider that Trump is still president.
This kind of sore-loser denialism is doing huge damage to the peaceful transfer of power, hallmark of democracy, that the US was once rightfully proud of.

That's the ongoing story of the 2020 election, compared to which Bernie Sanders´s fussy hotel requirements are a total non-story. Not sure what motivated you to post it here tbh Psy-Fi:

Quote:
According to Dovere, Sanders preferred suites with bathtubs and a king-size bed “which had to have a down comforter or another blanket in the closet. He preferred that the extra blanket be dark blue, and made of cotton.”

You never know why cause he never bothers to say what he means.

I just look at the nature of people’s areas of constant interest thru their postings to get a pretty good understanding of their mindset.

As for this article, eh, hem... it’s the NYPost - so that tells you something first.
There’s the amplification of certain phrases to steer the article to appear shocking in some sense. I can see/hear Sanders saying some of these quotes with a twinkle in his eye, but amplified by the Post as some horrible, demanding elitism - which has always been the (mis)direction this kind of media loves to dole out. “OMG, he has TWO houses and made a million dollars off a book!” - totally redirecting his ideas about general personal wealth while somehow presenting an older Senator with all of these decades of experience as being somehow elitist by having a summer home somewhere. There’s a whole generation of the middle class who’ve had second housing somewhere.

I can also tell you that, especially as you get older, travel that involves hotels can be a real pain with all kinds of uncomfortable surprises. As a matter of fact, I can see a lot of what is alleged (or some variation) in what I wish I could ask for if I had the clout of a person running for President. The cold room, the king sized bed, the tea, blanket (or pillow in the case of my wife)... and I’d probably want more things not mentioned if I were tasked with trying to get a good night’s sleep so I could be on my feet greeting people all day long while making sure that you don’t slip up on what you’re saying - because as we all know, there’s NO mercy (Obama’s “57 states” comment that may’ve been confused with the 57 Islamic states - or he just could’ve been damn tired after 15 months on the road). Cover up that damn red light on the TV (and that one on the ceiling that’ll put your eye out) ... why do they use cheap window unit air conditioners that sound like a truck when they cycle off and on in the middle of the night ... and so on. Staying at someone else’s place on a regular basis - especially when it’s mass produced - can’t help but produce uncomfortable situations that, sometimes, are tolerable in the short run, but if you are constantly on the road, they can easily accumulate into being a real pain and certainly detrimental if you have to constantly appear cogent to the unrelenting press.
