I agree with part of this, but I do think that besides the lack of charisma her being a woman does play a role. There's probably no way to argue that further without repeating ourselves. I do think the Hispanic comparison isn't valid though; people feel differently about a powerful Hispanic person than a powerful woman, maybe because of family structures or something.

About AOC, like I said it's not just about being hot, it's about avoiding the powerful woman = witch imago in a more general way. Also whether you specifically like these women or not may not be entirely representative. I've always liked the idea of hunting people in a forest tbh (or at the very least, tying them to a chair in a theater while I present several Powerpoints/rambling TED talks basically about my current obsessive interests alternated with my theories about what's wrong with all my family members, with song and dance numbers in between, so basically a tortuous unending one-woman variety show). Especially Jeff Bezos (he would get the torture labyrinth though, not a variety show). I'm very non-threatening however so I would need my powered exoskeleton and trained cassowaries to assist me.
