Plus Christians always appropriate leftist causes. They won’t even let you feed people so they can corner the market. Try it and see.

The real point is that genocide is wrong and never makes the world a better place. Doesn't really matter to me what their motivation is. |

When religion is forciby suppressed in countries by the government, the void is almost always filled by statism. It's not an effective long-term solution, in my eyes. The Soviet Union tried it and the country they left behind is now more religious than the US is.

Religion as a whole only ever seems to be surpressed in authoritarian countries that have their own dogmatic doctrines they require the populous to buy into, which they feel is subverted by deviant religious and ideolgical tendencies. So those doctrines act very much as a sort of state religion... Especially since the doctrines of said societies are usually based on the premise of some utopian vision.
In every other society, religious suppression only ever happens on behalf of one religion against another religion or set of religions.. IMO state atheism is no different in this regard. |

It also often reinforces said oppression. Again I'm not arguing religion is even necessarily a force for good on average... But compelling people to either believe it not believe in certain religious ideas is always a bad thing. It's theocratic to the core.
