A deterministic universe is simply a naturalistic one and that should be the default position until evidence is provided to show otherwise. The only reason anyone thinks differently is because humans are so used to assuming that free will exists that they erroneously consider it to be the default position. The point of no return in vetoing self-initiated movements

Predetermination requires as much evidence as free will. I don't think that it's either/or.
