Despite my lack-of-wanting-to-produce-my-own-kids-and-traditionally-settle-down-in-marriage stance due to my fear of poverty as I was literally raised in a dysfunctional welfare family, if I get to know people, I don't give a **** about their kids. That kind of thing really just means nothing to me. Being a parent is a hard, full-time job of its own. If I know a person well enough and their kids are at least moderately behaved, I'll even offer to babysit their kids so they can get some time off. I've done that for some girls that are friends of mine. I won't date them, or **** them, but I will on some rare occasions offer to babysit for them if I've got the day off from work with nothing planned, and they're trying to get out of the house for a night. Because I *do* fundamentally believe that everybody deserves a break, everybody should get a chance to breathe, and take a load off, you know?? It all depends upon the legal aspects and how well I know the person. Like with this one guy I used to know, for example...I wasn't comfortable watching his daughter because him and his ex were still in pretty full-on custody wars, but I *did* drive his daughter to his ex's place several times. They had some sort of no-contact thing going on, so he couldn't legally do it himself. I liked the dude, and his ex *did* seem pretty bogus. Like, I've never met the lady before, I pulled up in his car (not my car, he wouldn't let me burn my own gas for it) and I got out and before I even introduced myself to the lady she gave me her name and informed me I was being microphone-recorded ?? :usehead:...Whatever lady, here's your kid...all that **** between you two has got nothing to do with me.
But if it weren't for that sort of a situation, if he'd have asked me to watch his daughter so he could go hang out with his friends, I would have. Just like I do for the women I'm friends with on occasion. Only unlike the women I'm friends with, he probably wouldn't purpose to me repeatedly  And if he did, I'd probably tell him to go sleep his drunkass off. He's a good guy though, business-savy, and a decent folk/indie guitarist with a good voice. It was hard though, at times...driving her to her mother's house. She was only 2, and would start screaming and crying, not wanting to go, when he'd go into the room to tell her it's time. Some of the time, she knew before he even said anything to her. I felt bad for the guy...Like legit felt really bad for him. As a parent? I can't imagine...That wrecked the **** outta him.
