Should perma-banned members be given another chance?

I did vote to reverse the permaban under conditional circumstances. That's pretty simplified though. For one thing, one would have to request amnesty to the mods to begin with and then you have the slippery slope that reversing a permaban can be pretty arbitrary. Plus you don't really know what may have been said behind closed doors. I did see the thread where JWB was taunting Exo but a lot of times that sort of crap happens via PM. And mods do have a responsibility for the forum as a whole.

Anyway, I do think people grow with time and a second chance can be deserved,but I think the mods have a responsibility to look at past history and be really certain the member wouldn't cause the same havoc as before. Yeah, it probably would be about one percent that might be able to come back, not because of public demand, but because the mods are truly convinced the member has grown up so to speak.

What was the conversation in the mod cave like? Plank said you guys had been discussing and planning his ban for awhile before actually doing it. Would you guys have overturned it if everyone hadn"t flipped out about it?
