The question of is this course of action really in my best interest is pretty much the same thing I guess. Most of the time I wish I knew. I do know I’m better off not drinking and gambling though so if I try to justify that **** I’m not being honest with myself. For example, oh I got my bills covered so I can risk this bet - it’s a good bet blah blah blah. That’s not being honest with myself. Being honest with myself is more like I’m not clever enough to gamble successfully and over time I always end up down. So there’s that.
