Idk where you got the idea I'm not cynical or pessimistic. But I err on the side of talking people off the ledge rather than joining them there.

I don't think encouraging destructive behavior counts as talking someone off a ledge. Which is why I'm dubious of elph "waiting for inspiration" considering his recent past actions and philosophy.
