Im mot trolling. I asked for a justification of your criticism and also provided a personal example asking how i could possibly be accurately diagnosed given the randomness of occurrence. How do you propose doctors diagnose the call of the void i previously mentioned?

You realize asking a question isnt a strawman? Im not making an argument. I was curious how you came to your conclusion about current treatment. Comparing the diagnosis and treatment of a mental disorder to a broken arm seems like something that can be reasonably questioned to me. Maybe i could have phrased it better but im still not sure how you get off comparing the two.


If you did know what you were talking about you could have told me “no, they should be doing xyz but instead they abc because blah blah”.

My post was simply stating that physiological nature of the ailment should be investigated when a patient has symptoms indicative of a mental disorder. And every human experience including every emotion and every thought is only physiology. There’s nothing about that even remotely invites a critique. The only criticism possible is either an irrelevant personal jab at me or an argument that mental health care doesn’t need to be improved.

You said brain scans should be required before the diagnosis of a mental illness and implied that people that diagnose them don't know anything about neurology.

1st is critiqued by the simple fact that brain scans don't always catch mental illness and 2nd is just a false statement since psychiatrists, the ones that prescribe medicine to treat mental illness, are required to work in neurology for at least 6 months. Even psychologists, from what I understand, need to have a certain understanding of neurology in order to get a degree.

FTR im still curious what those of you that have gone through the process think needs to be improved besides accessibility. I just deal with **** on my own and pop a small dose of xanax on rare occasion. I dont like the idea of meds cause they seem to fix one thing and break 5 others.
