I am so sorry that happened to you.

I was diagnosed with PTSD just last month. My doctor recommended reading this book -- I've only been able to read a few chapters, but it's very enlightening so far.

When I was in detox they tried to prescribe me some meds but I don't trust em.

They didn't even talk to me that much or do a proper psych evaluation. I probably checked a box that says "sometimes I feel depressed" or something. They hand out pills like it's candy.

Then on top of that they wanted to prescribe me sleeping pills. I told them I don't have trouble sleeping and they were like "just in case." Just in case? You know I'm in here for substance abuse right?

Yeah I kind of feel like psych meds have the same problem as plastic surgery. They forget what normal looks like and just keep adding more hoping to fix the mess they’ve made.

The real problem is that people keep getting prescriptions for mental health from people that aren't in a mental health profession.

lol. i've been on a waitlist for traditional therapy for 8 months now. decided to try BetterHelp since all the podcast hosts are raving about it. got rejected hard. cooooool.
