My parents are dealing with that right now. They drink to self medicate their depression and anxiety. They don't get how powerful an alcohol addiction can be.

Alcohol is tricky bastard and alcoholism still isn’t really understood.

It has a multi-pronged attack and only one of those prongs has to get you.

All I can say is if you see signs that you’re in the danger zone do yourself the biggest favor possible and just quit. Don’t be like well alcohol isn’t doing the exact same thing to me that fits my understanding of what alcoholism is so I’m ok. It doesn’t work like that.

The other day my mother told me "Everyone is drinking during the quarantine. Don't you see the posts about it?" in response to her uncontrollable day drinking. I wanted to slap her through the phone.

Back before I was drinking malt liquor they were one of the better bottom dollar beers. Now they just taste weak and sickly.

They taste better than keystone or natty ice. I don't think I could hang now, could barely hang then. I'm too old to drink **** beer.

Miller High Life was probably the gold standard for piss beer for me back in the day. I'd say Yuengling but that was a step too high and slightly more expensive to qualify.
