I don't remember belittling his breakdown, I do remember belittling his bragging about drinking and driving and telling him to get help.

Oh it's a word choice thing? I should have said overly sensitive emotionally unintelligent boys.

Okay.

Sure.

And calling members that open up about their depression 'whiny and pathetic' for it is different.

For the most part people are respectful, though. Then people don't like how others express themselves and make backhanded comments about 'yeah, mental health'.

I'm not exactly clear what you want changed. To stay on topic all the time? Bickering obviously, people to quit using others' struggles for punchlines too. People are already very supportive.

I don't remember in which thread that sig quote was posted, but I never considered the whiny and pathetic part as referring to anyone's mental health issues. Maybe that's careless reading on my part, I dont know. In that case, consider the quote as being taken out of context.
I do agree that this place is basically very supportive when it comes to mental health, and I've said so before. I don't want anything about that to be changed fundamentally. I think it's important that people should be able to post about mental thealth without people reacting like *******s, but most of the time that's not a big problem right now. And I generally like it when people go off-topic, but in case of the mental health thread it's a little different, I just thought it would be better to continue the discussion somewhere else, no big deal.

Edit: just researched the original post from my sig, don't see how it refers to anyone's mental thealth problems in any way

LOL

Good times.

Overall I feel very supported when I post in this thread.

The problem is that not everybody here feels that way. I get a lot of pms from users who don't feel comfortable seeking advice here because of the way this thread can be. That's what upsets me.

Let's be honest Fluff has become a whiny snowflake in general after I started calling him on his Pepe memes.

No one should be seeking advice here.
