I doubt Trump cooks for himself but he'd certainly eat anything battered.

How dare you endorse such a destructive and senseless form of political violence.

Given how the price of ****ing EVERYTHING is skyrocketing now, and we may all soon look at each other in blank confusion when someone mentions words like "rent", "house", "mortgage" or "job", thought this might be a good time to resurrect this thread.

How are you getting on? Are you finding it hard to cope, make ends meet? Do you worry about the future, with things only getting worse?

Inflation is sucking us all dry over here. Our national bank cranks up interest rates, saying it has to be done. Meanwhile, it's not helping reduce prices for necessities. It just cuts off our collective nose to spite the face.

I'll say this about the current financial climate. My wife wanted us to put an offer on a house near ours. The asking price was $700,000. It sold for $900,000. I'm SO happy that we didn't bid on this place. My family would be in dire straits otherwise.

The I feel for two groups of people - anyone 30 and under, who will likely never be able to afford a house, and seniors who live on pensions that were good enough 30 years ago.

I wish our leaders would put aside their social justice pet projects and focus on actually helping people cope.

Boo hoo to owning a home, I keep hearing that

young people aren't even thinking about a house, they're wondering if theyll be able to afford to rent an apartment without roommates
I only mentioned it because it seems to be the be all, end all for many in Canada. I know it was drilled into me by my parents, my grand parents and my friends.

There is a line from a well known book here "A man without land is nobody". It's amazing how many people believe that.

I can't imagine being 20something now. University/college tuition looks like it has doubled in some cases. Rents are sky high, as is the cost of everything else (almost $2000/month for a bachelor, no thanks). It seems like the most jobs available are the so called Mcjobs.

Some friends have complained about going to restaurants and seeing so many staff shortages. They'll say that youngsters don't want to work. I don't believe that. I think they're leaving those jobs because they don't pay enough. They must also tire of being dumped on by patrons who think they're the only ones in the place. I know I did when I worked in a call center.

Various companies have been getting away with this for ages but I always pay more attention to it when the economy takes a downturn...

One way companies are concealing higher prices: Smaller packages
