The problem with your snarky point, Elph, is that I dont remember ever attacking social support systems. I am in favor of them. I am also in favor of people making better decisions. There is room for both, but you just like to accuse me of bootstrapping as if I think it's the only thing that needs to happen.

Yes, they can. People make decisions they know are bad/wrong all the time (mental illness and environmental factors aside). They just dont care or are willing to suffer the consequences, then you come along and say **** consequences, I should just be able to do whatever dumb **** I want.

It's victim blaming. The rich aren’t held accountable for their greed but the poor are held responsible for their own oppression.

The rich need to be held accountable for their bad unethical decision to be the oppressors of the poor. And the punishment needs to be brutal and severe and swift.
