Ain’t nobody know the future but the internet brings into focus how the 1% live and also gives a broader voice the average pissed off poor person. It’s hard to say. The wealth gap is hella ****ing nuts though. People hate them some billionaires. Not everyone but I mean it’s a thing.

There are race and class aspects to both but the broad appeal that lead to the protests which lead to the riots was about race.
I really believe that the flames were set by communists and anarchists whose target is capitalism and not white supremacy but that can’t be proven so...

That core in Portland. They hate the **** out of capitalism.

The internet also placates people who otherwise may be very pissed off and vocal about it. Instead of revolting, they're watching Netflix, endlessly scrolling through social media, or jerking off.

As long as the attention of the masses is constantly diverted, they'll never have the focus to see how royally they're being screwed.

Do they really though? They looked like a bunch of LARPers to me, as they record the mayhem with the latest iPhone model and upload it to their social media timeline.

Yeah. We’ll see how it goes.

They’ve been at it for 7 months. That’s a long ****ing time to be facing off with the police every night. Role playing is like when you don’t get beat up, thrown in vans, arrested, and gassed. I respect it and I respect how they built on occupy and I respect that they’re learning from this as well. They’re a small glimmer of hope.

That's true, I didn't think about it from that perspective. I don't think it's really a hatred of capitalism that fuels it - I think that's part of it though - there's a lot of things that are fuelling their cocktail of fury.

Welcome to the typical paranoid leftist view on the world. Now I understand why you believe in the conspiracy theory of a so-called patriarchy.

A Marxist doesn't want to see the inhumanity of many communisms?

Well, let's say it simply wasn't a communist system Stalin governed. Let's praise the humanity of the post- and prestalinist soviet union!

Trump's lies are more entertaining.

I dream of leftists who use their brains. Who deny all ideologies.

Marxism is nothing else than the left version of neoliberalism. Both isms are eschatologies. Marxism denies and demonizes market effects - with the usual bad results. Neoliberalism glorifies and absolutizes market effects - with the usual bad results.

It is so simple, so sad and depressing.

And this ****ing world revolution will never occur. Because the actual revolution is buying fair trade bananas.

Who wants to abolish capitalism when he himself is capitalism? Capitalism (=deregulated market economies) only works with customers who behave capitalist.

All these oversized "theories" like Marxism and neoliberalism are nothing else than modern religions.

PS: And those clowns who believe in the holy Marxism obviously have no idea how workers lived in the nineteenth century. The so-called world revolution is nothing else than intellectual marihuana.

>scoffs at the concept of a propaganda campaign
>decries ideas he doesn't like as the result of conspiratorial brainwashing

Big brain time.

yeah I mean it's true we're seeing a general shift to the left in the last couple decades among the younger generations, but typically this sort of thing is more prone to just shift the politics and culture more than fomenting actual violent revolution. That is something that generally comes about when material conditions are statistically worse.

I like that.

If I get your drift you’re saying as a consumer if you oppose capitalism you must oppose yourself. Is that a fair interpretation?

Not that this really proves anything but wasn’t Yugoslavia doing pretty well from an economic point of view when it fell apart into all that crazy warfare?

If we’re about to splinter off there’s at least going to be an anti-capitalist contingent I’d imagine.
