I know this very well because I am a slow person. Many people say that I am too slow and I need to hurry up. But a man with a dog actually gave me a compliment... He said that I was walking too fast and I needed to slow down! No, it wasn't sarcasm... He meant it from the bottom of his heart!

I can be a genius. I actually make some very intelligent posts, but then they get shipped off into outer space. They get lost in another dimension.

Ah, I see. You only look like an idiot because lovecraftian horrors keeping stealing your intelligent posts, probably high fiving each other in the locker room afterwards. Thanks for clearing that up.

That's a pretty offensively anthropocentric view of jocularity. How do you know they have five fingers?

I didn't say they were high fiving with their hands.

Time is real, it's just not the way that we think of it in simplicity. Time is just a unit of measurement. In all actuality, it isn't linear. It's bi-linear. The passage of time, and the scale of how you would measure it by planetary rotation, is going to be different on Earth than it would be, on say, Jupiter, for example.

Come again?

EDIT: Never mind, I get it. At a cursory glance, I thought you were saying that time would literally move more slowly on Jupiter.

Frownland 02-15-2018 08:25 PM

I thought that was the case though.

Yeah, but if you were actually standing on Jupiter you wouldn't notice anything. At first I was trying to comprehend what SmokeAndMirrors meant, but then I realized he probably wasn't talking about relativity but instead about how your standard of a "day" would be different on a planet with a different orbital period and radius and multiple moons.
