EDIT: IMO, Hawking is overrated as a scientist but rightly praised as a popularizer of science. He knows how to appeal to a non-technical audience.

It does, at least the way that we perceive it. Maybe trees or turtles are really intelligent beings, and they perceive time in a way far more advanced than we do. What if we're not advanced enough to comprehend 99.9% of the things in this universe? It's crazy, but there's a lot of uncertainty.

Thank you for making this thread... Time was created by a bunch of evil and greedy human beings... They wanted people to work faster, so that they could earn profit faster. If some people didn't work fast enough, they were labelled as "losers" and they were fired. Time is just an illusion that whips human beings in the back and forces them to work faster. I know this very well because I am a slow person. Many people say that I am too slow and I need to hurry up. But a man with a dog actually gave me a compliment... He said that I was walking too fast and I needed to slow down! No, it wasn't sarcasm... He meant it from the bottom of his heart!

There's always a slower fish.
