I was in love with Ayn Rand in high school. I think we went on a few dates but she wound up dumping me for a kraut.

Oh

And if I remember right, Satanism has more to do with self worship and hedonism than worship of Satan.

I'm going to go through my document library to see what I have on Satanism, Luciferianism and Thelemism. I'll upload them so we can all have a read.

people who interpret religious texts literally are morons, no doubt. but when you read the bible for the actual morals and lessons it attempts to teach through the story telling it's a compelling document.

it's like when you hear an atheist trying to argue with a christian and rather than address the actual religion they just misinterpret the bible to the point that they end up looking like the dumb one.

The book still says a guy walked on water. If nobody writing it ever actually believed that or thought that anyone should then the ****ing thing should have a disclaimer or something. How many millions or even billions of people have died cause the book wanted to speak out of both sides of its mouth and be unclear? Any book meant to dictate how you should live that is that easy to "misinterpret" ("misinterpretation" being a stupid concept for religion anyway, because the book doesn't make enough sense to interpret "correctly") is ****ing garbage. Maybe the Christians should show some common sense and start editing the damn thing themselves instead of being pussies who cut out large swathes of it in their own heads while still considering it somehow divine or whatever.

Bottom line, if you're a Christian then clean up your **** and don't get mad when one of the rest of us bitches at you when we step in it.

easy. all i'm saying is that the bible is a lot easier to make sense of when read as a collection of fictious stories with underlying messages rather than as a history book.

whether that's the way most christians see it i honestly couldn't care.

And yet plenty of people don't. That's on the Bible as much as them. You can't just be an apologist for a book cause these guys over here aren't so bad. You also can't say that the fundamentalists are necessarily wrong for interpreting the book in a way that it can actually be interpreted. That's just favoritism.

TBH I see the a lot of the "good Christians" as lazy atheists who don't want to let go of heaven and the idea that somebody up there is looking out for them.

And yet you side with them? If you don't care then don't defend their beliefs. I don't give a **** for the most part but I still think their book and their religion are idiotic garbage. I just don't throw my opinion in their faces.
