I would think that when [most] people subscribe to Satanism [unless they actually LIKE human sacrifices and shit like that], the ideals that they are ACTUALLY after would more closely resemble Luciferianism.

Satanism is just diet Thelema. It was literally just a religion created to piss off and shock Christians before Lavey half assedly plagiarized Crowley to make it what it is today.
