Unless they hanged your daughter for trying to open a white account in a yellow bank then stfu.

That's called prejudice son. Come back to us when you almost die because of your skin color.

^ Very good point, dj !

( BTW, last year I was denied a bank account in Britain because I don't have a UK residential address. I consider it an absolutely blatant case of addressism.)

I suppose it depends. If they'd be just as ****ish to a Japanese-American as they would be to a white American then yeah, it's prejudice. But if it's a race thing and they're sitting there staring you in the face, smiling while they sneer at your round eyes then it's racism territory.

I hope the <3 was for my correct use of "hanged".

Nope doesn't really count. If you get arrested for trying to deposit money into the bank like this man. Then you can scream racism.

Good ole Wichita Kansas. He should have known better trying to live out in those boonies with his skin color.

I'm sorry but I'm too lazy to read that whole thing. Are you saying it's the degree of prejudice that makes it racism, or is this about the institutional aspect? I'm not trying to strawman you, I'd just like you to spell out your point so that I don't have to guess.

Technically that story is an example of Islamphobia but my point is someone discriminating against you is not on the same level as being threatened by law enforcement and either arrested, shot at or killed.

Obviously, but that doesn't make it not racism if you aren't being confronted by an armed government official. It just makes it not terrifying so long as the cop isn't replaced with a lynch mob or group of drunk rednecks. Racism isn't a contest, which is the entire point of this exchange. It's all garbage, even pedestrian racism.
