I don't know the scale of the violence yet and we probably won't until all this blows over - but there has definitely been violence. We don't know statistics yet on what group, if any, is most affiliated with the individuals or groups committing the violence (as far as I know). It seems to be more Antifa than BLM to me. I'm not just talking about violence against police but violence against private citizens.

An 8 year old girl was shot in Atlanta the other day near a BLM protest site. David Dorn, a private security guard in his '70s, responded to a call when looters broke in and he was shot and left to bleed out in the street so the looters could snag some TVs (the video is available on Twitter, I don't recommend watching if you have a weak stomach or frail heart). One of the statues that was torn down (was it Columbus or Jefferson? I honestly dont remember) landed on some guy's head - he was hospitalized in critical condition. There was that video of the old lady in the electric wheelchair who brandished a knife and tried to block a store entrance from looters. She was beaten. There's been others. Not to mention all of the destruction of private businesses.

If the public wanted peace we shouldn't have been content to do nothing while people of color were being shot dead in the street. And if they'd rather beg the Fascist in Chief to restore order than watch another liquor store burn then that just falls in line with the nothing they've been doing since the first African arrived on a slave ship. **** our order.

Who's this "we" you are referring to? The majority of BLM protestors are white.

And every time there's a murder like that of George Floyd, there's tons of white people on the street protesting.

Hundreds of thousands dead in the civil war, the ending of slavery, the civil rights movement, affirmative action, and decades of meaningful reform = nothing? I get it, America still has problems, and we've got a lot of them. But to say this country has done "nothing" in regards to the equitable treatment of minorities since the first African arrived on a slaveship is hyperbolic and disingenuous.

I would agree with this. Like I said, we don't know which, if any, group is most affiliated with the violence yet. We don't have the evidence yet required to confidently say that antifa is involved with the violence in a significant way. It's also possible that the violence is a result largely of individuals unaffiliated with any group.

How? In what way? How is the local restaurant owned by a family friend just as exploitve and shady as Walmart?
