Unfortunately they went way too far the other way.

Pill mills are a different animal but regular doctors just follow fads. I ain’t never met one that had the courage to make an independent decision.

No offense but this seems like some amount of ignorance on your part. There is absolutely no doubt that certain areas have higher concentration of drug abuse than others.
Yeah, where the population is bigger.

He asked if the clinic brought the addicts, or if the addicts were already concentrated there, and so they put in a clinic. If his assertion is that the clinic doesn't attact addicts, tell me what they do attract.

Honestly the **** should be legal anyway... Though I definitely look at those pill mill docs as shady ****s abusing their position to make an easy buck.. My experiences with them just don't lend the best light to them... But even under the restrictions that existed when I lived there, my dad who had cancer has to ration his pills out by the hour to make sure he didn't run or cause they only supplied a certain amount to him each month... Meanwhile a dealer can literally get hundreds of pills at once cause the doctor was paid off... **** was ****ed

Addiction specialists, doctors, community volunteers, etc.

Everyone here probably agrees with that. I think it should be as simple as buying aspirin.

I also think plain ol opium should be available to simply smoke. I’d wager smoking opium is a lot safer than popping pills.

No.

The population isn't bigger in Vermont. They have a massive heroin problem.

The population isn't bigger in WV. They have a massive opiate problem.

There are many Midwestern, post industrial rust belt areas where the opiate crisis is huge.

South Florida has a decent sized population but no more than many other parts of the country, yet it was hit particularly hard by the crack epidemic because of its position as a key port for smuggling cocaine.

Baltimore is an average sized Mid Atlantic City yet the heroin problem there is probably worse than anywhere in the country.

If your assertion is that large concentrations of addicts don't prompt people to build rehabs, then what does prompt people to build them?

Let me try this again.

1. OH assumed I hated junkies and threw out the snark "how do you know the junkies weren't there first, and therefore they put a facility there."
2. I said why would one location have more junkies per capita than any other?
3. He called me a neo-liberal

Wtf does the population of Vermont have to do with that?

What do the various examples of concentrated drug addiction have to do with the question of whether drug addiction would be concentrated in a particular area? I'll leave you to ponder that.
