The thesis of their argument is that a Christian’s right to live in a world where gay people are not afforded rights is more important than gay people being treated as equal. Having gay people get married is an affront to Christians’ religious freedom to keep gay people oppressed, according to their dissenting opinion.

Abortion, ACA, gay marriage...

Don't forget it was the supreme court that legalized it in the first place. If he were counting on Congress to do something gay marriage would still be illegal in most of the country.
