The bottom line is that the RNC would determine who the replacement candidate would be, should it come to that unfortunate situation. And Republican slates of electors in states the president won, because he remains on the ballot, would very likely follow the RNC’s recommendation.
But one last possibility to ponder: If the RNC were deeply divided, and Republican electors then did not coalesce around a single replacement candidate, there might not be a majority winner in the electoral college. In that case, the House would choose the president from among the top three vote getters in the electoral college. In that process, each state delegation gets one vote.

Lucem, you're right, it's silly to talk about what I would or wouldn't do IRL. Glad you brought it up. Maybe you should write an instrumental about it. I recommend a piano paired with a clarinet. With ambient sounds of you hanging from your shower curtain you ****ing failure.

I think it does. The Vice President becomes President and finishes the term of his former President. LBJ and Gerald Ford are two examples during my lifetime that come to mind. I'm pretty sure it's always been done that way.

Yeah. I don’t know why asked that. But I don’t think they were actually sworn in for their predecessors second term.

But I’m pretty sure he’s got it. He didn’t announce it until it come out his press secretary or whoever that is was revealed to have it. Most likely, imo, the doctor released the positive test immediately so he wouldn’t be accused of sitting idle while he watched Supreme Court justices and Senators get exposed.

Wouldn’t mind an autopsy on RBG tbh no matter how predictable her death was

A Michigan group on Friday submitted more than 539,000 signatures in a bid to repeal a law that has given Gov. Gretchen Whitmer broad emergency powers during the coronavirus pandemic, demanding that the veto-proof initiative be put before the Republican-led Legislature before the year’s end.

Unlock Michigan needs roughly 340,000 valid voter signatures and has a 200,000 cushion. Republican organizers said state election officials should be able to certify the measure within 60 days. That figure has been questioned by Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, who has said it could take 105 days and has noted that the firm deadline is in 2022. That is when the legislation would go to voters if lawmakers did not pass it.
Democracy

As long the majority votes for it guess it’s the way it has to be derp derp
