Many weapons didn‘t exist when Jesus lived. But it is obvious that Jesus denies violence, weapons and war. So it is quite dumb to emphasize that nobody speaks of atomic weapons in the bible.

The question still is why the so christian republicans have such an affirmative relation to the military and nuclear weapons. I think you could save up a lot of money if you would reduce the military.

In Germany we have similar problems with the alleged christian conservative party (CDU=Christlich-demokratische Union).
