Whites can't be racist anymore. It's everyone else's fault for making them feel bad. What are they supposed to do?

Most head scratching thing I saw from politicians and people who are into politics...
People saying they care about Climate Change yet at the same time, wanting cheaper oil and even suddenly get concerned about rising oil prices when the oil prices gets high.

Oil is a type of fossil fuel for those who are wondering, burning fossil fuels causes climate change which is why getting so concerned about rising oil prices while caring about climate change at the same time is soo confusing.

That being said, shouldn't we have car free cities, so that no one has to worry about rising oil prices, no one has to drive gas polluting and space taking cars, and ultimately just walk instead with their own foot, or ride a bike?

It has happened before at some point, especially in Spain...

Don't know if we'll ever get to the point of being car free, but easier access to public transportation and more public transportation would be a good first step. It would be amazing to have high speed trains that connected all large cities across the USA (I'm thinking something similar to Japan's high sped rail network). In addition to this, a greater reach of ride sharing apps and autonomous vehicles, especially in more rural areas would be great. It would save lives too in the short term (less people driving under the influence). Won't be cheap though and hopefully the regulators can somewhat keep pace with innovation (they usually don't so we'll inevitably get some more horror stories, as we already have).

In addition, e-bikes are becoming more popular and are a low-physical impact way to transport yourself, even seniors could use them. Again, it would be ideal if we had interconnected bike paths across the country. Would probably be an economic boon for businesses to serve such a network (hotels, motels, restaurants, etc)

Bro you live in Arizona. If people got priced out of being able to afford using their cars in such a car-centred infrastructure, a good 90% of y'all would be dead af. That applies to most of america.

Of course, many would probably prioritize gas over food and shelter since they're often required to use gas to get to work since that's how they get their food. Even outside all of that, gas price inflation is so largely an artificially introduced part of our lives that it ends up superseding the desire to take longterm measures to resolve climate change in favour of taking shortterm measures to fix hunger pangs. There are obviously bigger approaches that would actually solve the issues at hand, but it's not that confusing really.

But ja, what a buncha dumb hypocrites lul

In a setback for Black Lives Matter, mayoral campaigns shift to 'law and order'
