Speaking of voting - what do you all put the odds at right now for the election?
The polls are almost ubiquitously giving Biden a large lead - but in November 2020, what chances are you giving to each candidate? |

I agree with this. A lot of folks have talked about the possibility that the debates (if they happen) could change people's perspectives. Part of me believes this (if Biden absolutely bombs or Trump makes a buffoon of himself), but another part of me thinks that the electorate is so polarized that these debates won't do much in the realm of changing minds. Those who hate Trump will come out of the debates reaffirmed in all the reasons why they do. Those who hate Biden will come out of the debates reaffirmed in all the reasons why they do. Maybe for that very small sliver of moderates who could swing either way will come out with a changed opinion, but will that small sliver matter?

I didn't specifically mean the debates just low enthusiasm for Hillary in general. She ostensibly won the debates besides the whole rape victim stunt Trump pulled.
I think the more people listen to Biden talk the worse it is for him. But he can still coast on the anti Trump sentiment. IIRC the turnout in 2018 was much higher than a normal midterm. It will also be interesting to see how the pandemic affects voting, campaign rallies/events, the debates, etc. |
