Am I milquetoast because I don't try to take the shock jock position in every thread? I'm just curious.

As for Biden, I posted a link discussing his platform. If you want me to audio book it for you, I will.

If he got the senate that stuff would be a big improvement.

A $15 minimum wage plus guaranteed Section 8 housing at that wage would blow the **** out of what’s currently happening

Yeah. That was kind of my point. If the candidate was someone you had no opinion on, and this was their platform, what would you think?

I think it's clear to most folks no one is pumped about Biden. But there are no atheists in a foxhole.

CNBC
May 28, 2020

The Trump administration and the Chinese government are going head to head over the coronavirus. The two largest economic powers in the world are trying to control the coronavirus narrative. The White House has accused China of misleading the world and downplaying the true threat of Covid-19. Chinese officials have criticized the US for not taking their warnings seriously enough.

The Chinese embassy in Washington, D.C, referred CNBC to Ambassador Cui Tiankai's remarks at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum when asked for comment.

I’m not going to deny it

The section 8 expansion would be a godsend to millions

Yeah but I don't trust an establishment Democrat floating more bandaids to neoliberal capitalism that are probably empty words in the first place. I'll give him a tip of the cap for raising minimum wage but he's still part of the problem and a late-stage Roman emperor presiding over the death of the empire.

"There are no atheists in foxholes isn't an argument against atheism, it's an argument against foxholes."

I also thought this was an interesting piece

Second, Biden wants to tie federal transportation funding to state and local government commitments to reduce regulatory barriers to housing construction. This is much more ambitious than the Obama administration’s proposals on housing supply, but it is the main policy recommendation of a book I wrote in 2012, so it’s a great idea.

Yglesias increasing puts his head up his own ass, and is attempting to take credit for a slight modification of the George Romney "Open Communities" act from the Nixon Administration, but that Biden is pushing it makes it interesting. Open Communities failed due to systemic racism. It's a subtle move toward restructuring housing finance, but it's one the urban planning crowd has been screaming for.

If he's not going to push for his platform. Can you tell me what he will do?

I’m not trying to get personal but I don’t think you’re fighting to cover rent at the threat of homelessness. Section 8 is pretty close to guaranteed shelter. You could get sick hit up the food banks and eat and have a roof over your head. That’s so different than our current reality. I’m sorry but I’m not likely to pass up a chance to have a chance.
